Edelman Deutschland starts September with two strong new additions: Dr. Yasmina Banaszczuk becomes Head of Digital and Christian Anhut Chief Creative Officer for Edelman Deutschland. With the new appointments, Edelman continues to focus on the strategic expansion of the core segments of communication consulting.
As Chief Creative Officer, Christian Anhut will now take over management of the creative business of Edelman Deutschland. Previously, Manuel Frank, who now works from London as Global Creative Chair for Health for Edelman, held the position.
“Christian’s years of expertise, his passion for strategy, data and insights, combined with his award-winning creativity, is a great asset for our team and our clients. We look forward to working with him to further expand our earned creative approach and implement successful projects that are perfectly tailored to our clients and set new standards”,
said Christiane Schulz, CEO Edelman Germany.
With 18 years of experience in creative agencies such as JvM, DDB, BBDO and most recently Saatchi and Saatchi, Anhut was in charge of managing a unit before joining Edelman Deutschland and successfully expanded it with clients such as Oreo, LU, TUC and 7 Days. With his creative and analytical mindset, he has already won numerous creative awards such as Cannes Lions, D&AD, Clio, LIA, NYF, ADC, DDA, Spotlight, Eurobest, One Show, and Webby Awards for his work for clients such as Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen and Oreo.
“What immediately impressed me about Edelman was the focus on disruptive ideas and earned creativity. I’m looking forward to bringing these ideas to the road with the teams and customers”, said Christian Anhut of his role at Edelman.
Dr. Yasmina Banaszczuk is also starting as Head of Digital. With this, Banaszczuk manages the digital business, including the new Content Lab, which includes social first content and experiences as well as content production. She takes over the role of Georg Kalter, who has been responsible for the newly created Digital Client Solutions division since the beginning of the year. Holistic digital competence is placed at the centre of customer advice and firmly anchored on regional and global customers.
“I am very pleased that with Yasmina we are able to strengthen our team in Germany and further expand our digital-first approach to storytelling, experiences and digital consulting. Coming from TikTok, Yasmina brings an incredible amount of expertise in our growing areas of social and content, as well as in consumer marketing, culture, editorial, gaming and health.
Yasmina is a strong advocate for diversity, equality and inclusion and will continue to strengthen the diverse digital leadership that we have built up in EMEA last year. Furthermore, she will continue to build and maintain Content Lab in Germany, which is part of a European team. This is a new concept in the field of social-first storytelling and always-on social”,
said Felicitas Olschweski, Head of Digital EMEA.
Prior to joining Edelman Deutschland, Yasmina was Head of Content Programming, Strategy, and Safety at TikTok Germany, where she was (among other things) responsible for the content ecosystem strategy for short videos and LIVE in the DACH region, the establishment of systematic trend and memes scouting, and the personnel development of four teams with members in Germany and China. Previously, she was a freelance and on staff journalist and digital consultant, as which she worked and wrote for various media outlets, political parties, and NGOs on issues of online and pop culture. Banaszczuk also brings experience from the chemical and IT areas of Bayer, where she worked in strategic planning and communication.
“I look forward to using Edelman’s great expertise in trust and reputation to develop authentic campaigns that rethink digital strategies”, says Yasmina Banaszczuk.
